my 2 y/o daugter is s-h-i-t scared of the dark so we leave her light on with the dimmer.trouble is,is that when we use an energy efficient bulb,it flashes and in the interests of going green, i don’t like to use ‘normal’ light bulbs.so are there any types of energy bulbs out there compatable with dimmer switches or switches compatable with the bulbs? also, does using a dimmer save any electricity?

I have a 1400 sq ft house and I want to get a more cost-efficient air conditioner. I am trying to "go green" and I know I can find a more energy efficient unit. I just don’t know what to look for and where to find a good deal.

Any suggestions?

I remember seeing commercials for this thing from Walmart. I remember it was a handheld, green, and something about green energy or enviornmental friendly. Not really sure. For some reason I keep thinking its a steam cleaner or shampooer.I remember the commercial showing a woman using it on the stairs and that it was roughly around the price of .00. I’ve looked online and at the store. Does anyone have any idea what it was? Or the brand or anything?

On my electric bill I have the option to select "green power" which according to them would be taken from renewable energy sources. The only disadvantage is that a 6% surcharge is added to my bill but really the charge is negligable in comparision to my bill. (For example it would be an extra 50 cents on the bill)

Driving home from work this morning I heard on the radio that alot of buildings were installing green roofs to save on energy and keep the building cooler. What is a green roof?
