PWM? Has anyone developed the technology for a personal windmill to power one's house?
If not that, then how about a personal windlass (like the wind up radios and flashlights) to generate enough electricty to power one’s house? If so, I want one.

Look in the Grizzly tool catalog. There are several wind mills for producing electricity, some pretty powerful.
Contrary to popular belief the power company does NOT "have" to buy the excess power back. In fact, they almost stopped the wind farm going on in the "Thumb" of Northeastern Michigan.
Over four hundred windmills are going in for a savings of 25% to all people here.
I had a friend years ago hook up a lot of DC batteries ( marine batteries ) to get 120 volts…then he hooked up an inverter to convert the DC current to AC current which powered his house. He made a windmill from 55 gal oil drums which he cut in half ( long ways ) then attached them to the frame work and on to a machine that looked like those things that walk horses on. The gears were hooked to a generator that kept the batteries charged. It worked really good until a big storm about 3 yrs later…the 80 MPH winds sent the whole thing into his neighbour’s house about a mile away.
Actually you can get personal windmills to power your home. Then you can sell back to the power company the extra energy that you cannot use. How’s that for a change?! The power company pays you! Make inquiries of your local power company or look online.
I’ve seen windmills, waterwheels and photo voltaic power houses. Search the Internet for each. you can also use passive methods to help.
Yes they make wind generators for your home. And yes in a lot of (not all) States the power company has to buy the excess power back from you at RETAIL.
The only problem is how long it will take you to get "paid back" from your investment. Calculations will vary based on consumption. I figured it would take me between 15 and 20 years to break even.
I encourage you to look into it it is a growing field and they are constantly making improvements. The payback might be worth it for you!
